Trustees Beth Grant A freelance education consultant specialising in graduate and post-graduate teacher training in methodology and linguistics world wide. Beth has been involved with the Riding for the Disabled Association for over 25 years, including time as Mid-West Regional Chairman for the Riding for the Disabled Association. Beth has been Chairman of the Avon Riding Centre since 1989. Marcus Adams Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development at Powys Teaching Local Health Board. Marcus provides advice on personnel development and diversity issues. Marcus is the charity’s Child & Vulnerable Adult Protection Officer. Fiona Bell-Scott A partner at Chartered Accountants Houghton Stone Fiona advises the Board on accounting procedures. Anita Coaster Principal of Coaster Legal, Anita is a practising solicitor specialising in employment law and sits regularly on a Tribunal Panel. Anita provides expertise on human resource issues as well as more general legal matters. Pat Davis Formerly the Fundraising Director for St Peter's Hospice now a freelance fundraising consultant. Pat provides expert advice on fundraising initiatives and income generation. Gill Edwards Professionally trained as an Orthoptist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Gill was joint head of department at Bristol Eye Hospital before becoming involved almost full time at Avon Riding Centre in 1987. Gill is the Centre’s Principal Instructor for the disabled rides. David Gammon Formerly an Area Director for Lloyds Bank, and now an independent banking and finance consultant, David is also a Director of Life Education Centres. David advises the Board on Income Generation.
Roger Hobbs Formerly a Bacteriological Technician in the then Public Health Laboratory, now known as the Environmental Protection Agency. Since retirement Roger has ran a small antique restoration business and has been involved in the BHS Avon committee (now resigned). Roger joined Avon Riding Centre as a volunteer then subsequently as a Trustee. Roger takes lead responsibility for the stables and estate, and for health and safety issues. Dr Kathryn Monk Science Strategy Manager for the Environment Agency Wales. Kathryn holds two honorary academic positions in British and Canadian universities, and sits on a number of research and knowledge transfer advisory boards internationally and in the UK. Kathryn is new to the Board. Peter Warren A retired management consultant, prior to which he was head of management services for a large UK based group of companies. Peter is a non-executive director of M B Solutions (Holdings) Ltd. Peter is Vice Chairman and advises the Board on development strategy.
