| A Royal Occasion |
|
On Monday 22nd February we were delighted to receive an official visit from HRH The Princess Royal. The Princess visited us in her role as President of the Riding for the Disabled Association and as part of her visit opened our enlarged and refurbished Outdoor Arena. The visit began with a musical ride performed by a group of young RDA riders led by their instructor Kim Langbridge. They performed to music from The Lion King and afterwards were each presented with a special commemorative rosette from The Princess Royal. After taking a tour around the stable yard, led by Toni Evans our head groom, the Princess then unveiled an official plaque on the new Outdoor Arena. Several groups of riders, volunteers, staff and supporters had the opportunity to meet with the Princess during her visit, where she took the time to speak to everyone about their role and experiences at Avon Riding Centre. The day was a great success and we would like to thank everyone who was involved in the organisation of the event, all the hard work was greatly appreciated. The visit will obviously help to further raise the profile of the Avon Riding Centre and it was a momentous occasion to be remembered by all. |
